EVENT MANAGER (Part-Time)

For the past 10 years I have worked for Swing Patrol as their Events Manager, working on their festivals that consist of dance workshops and parties, taking place over a number of days. SWING DANCE TEACHER
Swing Patrol U.K. | May 2010 – Present

I teach a weekly Swing Dance class every Wednesday at Kilburn. As a passionate Swing Dancer, teaching gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion with other people at the same time as honing my public speaking skills and providing me with the ability to break down and explain technical movements. This is a highly transferable skill that I often use in my professional life while working with or training colleagues. As well as teaching weekly classes I have also been lucky enough to teach at workshops and festivals in other countries including: Philadelphia (USA), Galway (Ireland), Brisbane & Gold Coast (Australia), Brussels & Antwerp (Belgium). I have also been to teach at a large number of summer music festivals in the UK including: Camp Bestival, Camp Wildfire, Wilerness, Secret Garden Party, Bestival, Love Box and Love Supreme. I consider myself an advanced dancer in Blues, Lindy Hop and Balboa.

CHOREOGRAPHER
Swing Patrol U.K. | May 2011 – Present

Working for Swing Patrol has presented me with the opportunity to choreograph Swing Dance performances for my students and for some of the Swing Patrol troupes. Often this work is one in partnership with my teaching partner Tobias Short.  Please see below for the video’s of the routines I have co written for Swing Patrol Performance balls
