Back in 2009 when I first arrived in London is was just a month or so after Swing Patrol had opened. I approached the director of Swing Patrol and pitched the idea of running the London Swing Festival (LSF). The first LSF ran in 2010 and attracted about 425 dancers from all over Europe and helped to build the Swing Patrol dance community. I ran the festival for the first few years when it was then taken over by another member of the team. It continued until 2016 when it then took a few years off before returning in 2019 again co-managed by Pippa and her colleague and friend Michaela Delmonte. In 2019 it was a sell out event and plans for 2020 are already underway.
The London Swing Festival is a 4 day event with Swing Dance parties and workshops. I am involved in every aspect of the running of this event including:
-
- Budget creation and monitoring
- Set up and management of the ticketing system
- Set up and management of the LSF website
- Venue sourcing, negotiation and booking
- Suppler research and relationship management
- Design of marketing collateral
- First point of contact for all enquirers
- Social Media marketing campaign design
- Venue sourcing, negotiation and booking
- Event scheduling
- Team and volunteer management
- Design and content management of event guide
- Event Theme design and sourcing
- Customer service
